Absurd, yet compelling.

Does anybody have a lot of time and patience on their hands? Fair enough, I have plenty of time, but am still lacking in patience. I've discovered this bizarre little Flash game, in grammatically-odd yet somewhat native-sounding Russian, with English subtitles. Perhaps the painfully-tedious navigation system is intended, in some way, to evoke the painful tedium of Soviet living circa 1953, the year in which Wombat Tale is set. Somebody please play this strange, description-defying little game and tell me what happens once you've collected all the tomatoes.

okay.... so i started playing it. it's damn slow moving the little tomato picking dude around, and the creepy australian rodents eat your pressed tomatoes as fast (er, as slowly) as you pick them. anyhow, i got to where i had one tomato left, and as soon as i walked my tomato picker over there and clicked on it... my browser window closed! now, this never happens (at least without some sort of error message, which there wasn't) but there's always a first time. was that the point? was it supposed to close down and frustrate me to no end? i dunno, but i'm not patient enough to do it all over again.....

That. Is. So. Damned. Annoying.

Well, I applaud you for trying!

i love the emotional tone of the animation and music. instead of picking tomatoes i made the guy go infinitely far into the depth of the russian industrial landscape.

I collected all the tomaotes and placed them in the crusher. Absolutely nothing happened.

I am sorry you had to go through that. Have a soothing hot drink.
